Hikkin is located at a distance of 16 Kms from Kaza, it is one hour uphill drive all the way and the village is famous for having a permanently structured highest post office of the world at the height of 14567 feet (4440 meters). The village falls en-route to Komic Village and Langza village. You have to park the vehicle on the road and make a steep walk to the post office. There are post cards readily available at the café located opposite to the post office. You can write the post cards and post them there and then to your loved ones. The houses here are made of clay and stone. Fossil enthusiasts can look around Hikkim and find fossils more easily than perhaps in Langza. The village is a beautiful sight to look at from a distance with its layered fields with shades of green and golden brown and surrounded on all sides with snow-capped mountains.
Like all other villages in the area Hikkim too has its own monastery. It is a simple monastery and not comparable to ones at Kye & Tabo. Like Langza the village land is rich enough to find the marine fossils from Jurassic era. If you are interested in star gazing, Hikkim is one of the best places to do that. Best months to travel to Hikkim are from May to October. The best way to experience the village is walk around and meet the locals living in their mud & stone houses. The time comes to a standstill and the whole experience will mesmerize you.
