Shoja

Shoja

This little hamlet, Shoja, is located in the Seraj Valley, covered with pine and deodar forests. Seraj Valley is a part of Great Himalayan national Park, and offers you lots of opportunities for forest walks and to connect with nature. The village has a mystical appeal for travelers and you con not help falling in love with the place. Waterfall point is a must visit here. You will need to walk through thick forest for around 1 Km to reach here and the sound of water cascading from height will mesmerize you.

Another place for adventure seekers is Jalori pass. It is a 5 Kms drive but not for the faint hearted, the road is narrow, very steep and full of potholes. It is advisable to have a 4 wheel drive, if you plane to go up on this road. From here you can do a day trek to Serolsar lake, with its crystal clear water, it is about 5 Kms trek through thick cover of oak trees and has a temple devoted to Godess Budhi Nagin. Another short trek that you can do from Jalori Pass is to the Raghupur Fort. It is a 3 Kms trek with the path covered with oak trees. There are only ruins left of the fort now and there is a small pond within the premises of the fort.
