Located 50 Kms north of Mandi is this small lake with crystal clear water called Prashar lake. It is named after sage Prashar and a 3 storied pagoda like temple dedicated to sage Prashar stands next to it. The temple was built some time during the 13th century. The lake is at an elevation of 8950 feet above the sea level and from the lake one has an unrestricted view of mighty Dhauladhar range.
You can almost drive up to the lake. From the motorable road it is an easy hike of about 1 Km to the lake and the temple. There is a fence around the lake and you cannot enter its water. There is a small floating island inside the lake. You can have wonderful views of sunset and sunrise from the tops near the lake.
