The state of Himachal Pradesh is blessed with places of endless beauty and one such place is a small sleepy town called Sarahan. It is located at an elevation of 7600 feet and at a distance of 170 Kms from Shimla and is known as “Gateway to Kinnaur”. The place offers unparallel views of Himalayan ranges. Sarahan is famous for its endless apple orchards, dense pine forests, glacial streams and terraced farms. There is not much in terms of activities to do in Sarahan except for some places you can visit like Bhimkali Temple (one of the 51 Shakti Peethas), Royal Palace, Bird Sanctuary and Hawa Ghar. But the time you will spend in this quiet town in the lap of nature will remain etched in your memories forever.
The best months to visit are April to June and September, October. If you are adventurous enough you can do a steep drive of about 16 Kms to reach a place called Jeori that offers amazing views of mountain ranges.
