Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage was established in 1975 by the Department of Wildlife Conservation. Orphaned, abandoned and wounded elephants from all parts of the island are brought here. They are fed and well looked after here. It an experience that will remain etched in your memory for a long time.

After breakfast we take your for a city tour of Kandy visiting Upper Lake Drive, Market Square and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
Kandy ,served as capital of Sinhalese Kings and ceded to the British in 1815. Kandy has a Buddhism’s influence in with many Buddhist temples and monasteries. It is a world heritage site as declared by UNESCO. The Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniyaare spread in 67 hectares, is a botanical treasure containing more than 4000 species of plants.
The Golden roofed Temple of Sacred Tooth houses Sri Lanks’s most important Buddhist relic – the tooth of Buddha.
In the evening enjoy a cultural show featuring various dance types of Sri Lanka.

After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya and en route visit tea plantation.Tea was first planted in Sri Lanka in 1824 at the Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, when a few plants were brought from China. More were introduced from Assam in 1839. Today Sri Lankan tea is a flurshing industry and world famous.
Nuwara Eliya is popularly called The ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka. It is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. It is supposed to have the most pleasant weather on the island.

Later visit Seethaeliya,a small temple dedicated to Seeta with statue of Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Hanuman.

Yala National Park is one of the oldest National Parks in Sri Lanka spread in 1297 sq kms. One can see Flamingoes, Assemblies of spotted Billed Pelicans, Spoonbills, Cormorants and various species of Herons. Pheasants, Pea Fowl, Peacocks and the Wild Fowl. Wild Buffalo and herds of wild Elephants are a common sight.

Galle is Sri Lanka’s most historically interesting town. The historic Fort area is crammed with boutique shops, cafes and hotels. Ona can also take a stroll around the Light House and harbor.

In the afternoon commence half a day city tour in Colombo including shopping.

Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. The historic Dawatagaha Mosque and the former Eye Hospital are two buildings in Cinnamon Gardens worth looking at.
Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha and the Independence Square.
